My sweet Melody turns 11.

Hello, my sweet bloggers <3

Things have changed since the last time I was around here, all for good but nonetheless in the midst of change fear loves to be a friend and that can be a little scary -- no worries though, I've found the one whose light make fear tremble, so I'm all good. --  Some people have wondered if I'm still taking pictures or if I'm working. Truth is, YES I AM! I'm still a photographer/videographer but as you already know that is not all I am. It is my job but it's not who I am and my priorities in life have kept me busy and away from blogging. -- Right now I'm listening to the song This Is Me, from the soundtrack to the movie The Greatest Showman. Melody loves this soundtrack so we can listen to it for days nonstop. It is her theme party so it's perfect for my blogging.  Right next to me, I have my sweet little boy Matthew, he's just waiting for me to get off the computer so he can play Roblox. Melody is washing the dishes and my oldest is cleaning his room. - Daddy says it's cleaning day so we can enjoy the rest of this short holiday at peace. - (sigh) I know I'm not the best mommy but I sure try. -- I AM A MOM and I love it, a hundred times yes to that.

Melody's birthday was on the 23rd, and since she is the one who inspired and motivated me to start photography I figured I would blog about her.  It can sound a little cliche that I describe her by the things she likes which can be pretty common with the girls her age -- so I will describe her for what she is for me. (Before I start I have to say she makes justice to her name because she is constantly singing around the house especially when she is happy.)

Melody is:
Hhhmm...well, can't really describe her with a word but I will describe her with the things she does.

When I don't feel good, she is the first one who notices and gives me hugs and says "Are you, ok mama? - Do you need water?"

When she wakes up, she comes over and says "Amo mama" it's a saying my first born created which means "Love you, mama." In Spanish, you don't usually say just Amo, but we do.

When she goes to sleep she says the same thing and reminds everyone to pray.

In every birthday, in every anniversary she writes letters for everyone.

She loves to cook, so when her brothers are hungry she will make french toast and will say things like "Mikey I warmed up your cereal"

Thoughtful you would say...but for me, it's not enough for it is filled with so much love, I can't even write about it without tearing up.

She is brave and has conquered her fear for ants because she loves nature, she's still working on liking spiders and lizards.

She helps me be a better person and is a constant reminder of God's love for my life.  I often wonder how can so much love fit in such small body and although she is growing the love she has and gives is way bigger than herself.  As parents, we always give ourselves the guilt trip and wonder if we are good enough or if we do enough? Well, every time I wonder and I feel down Melody comes around with her sweet hugs reminding me how happy she is and how much she loves me and appreciates me. She will even go out of her way to just leave little notes of appreciation around the house.

All of that in this sweet little girl who is not so little anymore.

I've taken many of my customers to this sweet spot cause I love it so much and thought why not take my princess there. We went to the salon to make her a sweet braid, bought her a bouquet of flowers and we were off. I really wanted to capture who she is...she is so sweet, so playful and so full of life. I wanted to capture her laugh and her silly moments and I think I succeeded.

Melody Naomi, you have made me the happiest mommy. I may not be the best of a friend in the few years to come because I will focus on coaching your way into the adult life but I promise you whenever you need me I will be there and when all else have turned away from you, you will always have a friend in me my sweet girl.  Don't forget you are BRAVE, STRONG and SO LOVED not only by us but you're heavenly Father. I pray you grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people. Love you muñequita de mama. <3

...Your Mama, Suhey
